Welcome fellow cozy campers! If you want to slow down, take a stroll in nature, eat yummy food, and sleep under the stars in comfort you’ve found the right place. I’m excited to start this blogging journey and share what knowledge I have, and what I learn along the way as I camp my way through WA and beyond. While this blog may focus most heavily on camping in the Pacific Northwest there will be general camping information and travels beyond the PNW that will hopefully help out a larger number of cozy campers. Let’s slow down and reconnect with nature together!

What Content to Expect
Gear Recommendations
I know how tricky it can be to know what gear to buy, how much to spend, when to buy new vs used and so on. In hopes to make this question a bit more approachable for new campers and to help people who have camped as long as I have but are ready to increase their comfort level while camping. I will post lists of what gear I suggest all campers have and special recommendations for specific gear that I bought recently with reviews of price, durability, and practicality. Having the right gear for you is the first and foremost priority to have a cozy camping trip, and I’m a firm believer that price doesn’t have to be a barrier to comfortable camping. All the gear that my partner and I have and use fits in the trunk space of our Subaru Forrester; it doesn’t take a lot of space to be a cozy camper!
Campground Reviews
As I travel around I will be writing up reviews of State Parks, National Parks, and other campgrounds that we stay in. These reviews will focus on a few key elements that I look for to have the most comfortable camping experience: noise levels, campsite privacy, facilities, water access, nearby activities, cell service, and the park’s main draw. Taking all of these categories into consideration I will let you all know if I would return to that campground or not, and any recommendations I have about how to have the best experience in each location. Everyone has their own idea of what makes a perfect campsite, but for me I want to feel as alone in nature as I can while having easy access to flush toilets and running water.
Recipes
There are lots of different ways to cook while camping, some which take hours over low coals in a Dutch oven and others that require no cooking at all. In my recipe posts I will cover different recipes for different seasons, recipes that require little to no refrigerated ingredients, and a range of recipes for different effort levels. All of the recipes that I write about will be recipes that I make and trial myself, because one thing about being a cozy camper is having good food to eat! Food always tastes better outdoors so lets get cooking out in nature!
Excursions and Activities
If you love a gorgeous nature walk, exploring a cute small town, looking at plants, and/or some amateur birding, this will be the category for you. As I travel and camp around I love to see what attractions are nearby, and in the winter, when I may not be camping as much, I still like to get out to nature. These posts will range from easy day trips from Seattle/Tacoma area to the activities and excursions that are available near different campgrounds. For people who want to take it slow and stroll through the woods or a little town center, The Cozy Campers want to help you find the perfect getaway.
Extending the Camping Season
This category will be a new journey for me. Growing up we were always summer campers, only going out in other seasons with an RV, but as an adult I want to learn how to be a cozy camper in my tent in the fall and early spring. These posts will chronicle my adventures in camping in the chillier, quieter camping seasons. I expect some ups and downs as I figure out how to stay warm and dry and truly enjoy the cozy camping life throughout more of the year. Without spending hundreds of dollars on different gear for the colder, wetter seasons, I will share what works and what doesn’t for extended season camping in the PNW. I can’t wait to camp surrounded by autumn foliage and spring wildflowers!

Thanks for coming along on this journey Cozy Campers!
